He will first be brought to Arlington Memorial Chapels on # 12 Gregorio Araneta Avenue, Quezon City (Telephone: 713-1111). Subsequently, Regent Sarmiento will then be brought to his residence on # 22 Sunrise Hill, Rolling Hills Subdivision, New Manila, Q.C. where he will lie in state starting October 8, 2010.
A text announcement from Alpha Phi Beta fraternity, of which Regent Sarmiento was Lord Chancellor Emeritus, said a necrological service will be held in his honour on October 9 at his residence at 10:00 a.m. The requested attire is Barong Filipino.
Regent Sarmiento’s interment is scheduled on October 12 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Shrine, Broadway Avenue, New Manila, Q.C. (Telephone: 727-0814).
The Secretary of the University, Dr. Lourdes E. Abadingo, has issued a memorandum dated October 4 regarding the passing of Regent Abraham F. Sarmiento (http://www.upd.edu.ph/):
"The President has ordered that the Philippine Flag and the U.P. Flag in all Constituent Universities be flown at half mast starting today until Regent Sarmiento’s interment. This is to honor the man who served his Alma Mater so well.”
