MANILA, Sept. 17 - The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) continued its amazing run Friday by surging to a new high at 4,021.33 early in the trading day.
The PSEi, however, finished 26.11 points lower or 0.65 percent to close at 3,979.35.
Value turnover reached P6.6 billion.
PSE president and chief executive officer Val Antonio B. Suarez said that year-to-date, the index has gained a total of 30.36 percent or 926.67 points.
The PSE is the country's only stock exchange with 250 listed firms and 132 active trading participants.
