Diliman Videos of the Week: TABI PO short film Parts 1 and 2

Part 1

Part 2

This is the first and second half of a two-part short film made by a U.P. Diliman student and his team mates  created for film class during his junior year at UP Diliman College of Fine Arts.

In the Philippines, some believe that saying "Tabi po." (which roughly translates to "Excuse me.") while traversing any path believed to be inhabited by spirits lessens the chance that they will harm you. This film is about a certain hiker who didn't believe any of that.

Diliman Video of the Week: 1/2 Crosswise (an amateur short film)

1/2 Crosswise is a story of a passionate writer who tries to make stories but has never finished one. She kept on having inspirations for writing, and in fact, she traveled on different places to find inspirations 'til she found out that her life would soon be turned back to the ALMIGHTY (that's the conflict). At the end, she died with this last story on the making unfinished. She therefore realized that no stories are finished. Never a story has an ending for stories are timeless. It continually grows and creates more stories. Again, it will never end even if it becomes long. Time will make the most of it. The main character left the world while her stories live on vastness.

*Note: this film is so indie. Sequences are in random arrangements. Original resolution is not obtained here.

This is the result of the cooperative effort of the members of Sulok Productions (BatStateU-Lipa)

Diliman Video of the Week: "Sunlight & Stations" (A Short Film)

(Source: http://www.youtube.com/)

Synopsis from the producers:

Video Editing by Royce Opinion and Kia Opinion. This short film/video is a mash-up of two poems discussed (and, I guess, I sort of "fell in love with") in my Literature 14 class: Something About Sunlight by Marnes Kilates and In a Station of the Metro by Ezra Pound -- with an additional twist.

I took most of the shots in Ateneo, along Katipunan Avenue, and in the LRT station. My brother (who did most of the editing) and I started tweaking and stitching all the clips together at 1 o'clock in the morning -- 9 hours before deadline! It took us 8 hours to finish everything because his computer kept crashing (my laptop could contribute quite little, really). I almost had a tiny embolism.

We could have added more transitions yadda yadda. However, all things considered, I wouldn't change a thing. Allow me to be cheeky and say: I'm absolutely proud of it!

Cheers, Manong! (You big fat lifesaver *high five*)

P.S.

Trivia: Nearly all of the tracks in the music "score" is from the soundtrack of the movie (one of my ultimate faves) "Wristcutters: A Love Story."
