Photos of the turnover ceremony between the 19th and the 20th Presidents of the University of the Philippines A time to be happy, a time to be sad

Editor's note: The following photos show a pensive looking Dr. Emerlinda R. Roman, U.P.'s 19th President, as she turns over the University mace, the symbol of the U.P. Presidency to U.P.'s 20th President, Alfredo E. Pascual during turnover ceremonies today at Quezon Hall, U.P. Diliman. Dr. Roman gave a speech highlighting her administration's accomplishments, while President Pascual gave a speech highlighting his vision and plans for U.P. in the next six years. President Pascual later worked the crowd, who seemed pleased to be pressing the flesh with U.P.'s new president. To read the Diliman Diary's coverage of the speeches of the two U.P. Presidents, please click on this link: http://diliman-diary.blogspot.com/2011/02/19th-up-president-defends-record-while.html
