A RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE HOUSE COMMITTEE ON CIVIL SERVICE AND PROFESSIONALREGULATIONS TO CONDUCT AN INVESTIGATION, IN AID OFLEGISLATION, ON THE ALLEGED CORRUPTION AND GRAVE ABUSE OFDISCRETION COMMITTED BY UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES-CEBUCOLLEGE DEAN DR. ENRIQUE AVILA, BUDGET OFFICER ALSIDRYSHARIF, AND CONSULTANT ERNESTO PINEDA

WHEREAS, on March 1, 2011, the students, faculty, and staff of the University of the Philippines-Cebu College (UP Cebu) filed a petition to the UP President Mr. Alfredo E.Pascual and the UP Board of Regents demanding the resignation of UP Cebu Dean, Dr.Enrique Avila, Budget Officer Alsidy Sharif, and Consultant Ernesto Pineda for allegedlyconspiring to commit acts in flagrant violation of The Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Actor Republic Act No. 3019, The Government Procurement Act or Republic Act No. 9184,and The UP Charter of 2008 or Republic Act No. 9500

"The 20th President of the University of the Philippines System, Alfredo E. Pascual, visited UP Mindanao on February 14, 2011 for a Sectoral Consultation with the Administration, Faculty, Students and Non-teaching Personnel."

"The party, composed of Mr. Pascual, his wife Mrs. Carmen M. Pascual and UP Mindanao Chancellor Dr. Gilda C. Rivero, was greeted by the UPMin community upon arrival. He then proceeded with the consultation program held at the Gaisano Room (ExeCom) and Lorenzo Hall (faculty, students, personnel), listening and answering to many concerns opened up by the constituents."

"The highlight of the ceremony will be the turnover of the University Mace, the symbol of authority of the UP presidency, by outgoing president, Emerlinda R. Roman, to the incoming president, Alfredo E. Pascual,"

"Pascual was elected by the UP Board of Regents last December. His term begins on February 10 and ends on February 9, 2017."
